Our Story

Since 1940, our family has been dedicated to serving exceptional food, starting with my grandmother’s small restaurant in Cedar, California. There, she introduced the community to her signature dish: enchiladas complemented by a variety of vibrant fruit salsas, including mango, guava, orange, and pineapple. This humble beginning marked the launch of our culinary journey.

In 1970, we ventured to Atlanta, Georgia, where my cousin opened the area’s first Tex-Mex restaurant. Although he faced challenges and had to close after just eight months, it paved the way for future endeavors.

In 1984, I relocated to Atlanta and successfully launched three restaurants. Eventually, we sold those establishments and made the exciting decision to move to Taylors, South Carolina.

In October 2010, we proudly opened La Reata Mexican Restaurant, where we have been committed to serving fresh, delicious food ever since. Our restaurant features a variety of salsa bars, with all sauces made daily from scratch, ensuring that every dish is cooked to order. We prioritize fresh ingredients, shunning pre-prepared items, which is why we were the first in Greenville to offer a salsa bar filled with homemade, fresh salsas.

Our menu is thoughtfully curated, showcasing our beloved signature Al Pastor alongside a diverse selection of authentic Mexican dishes, all prepared from scratch with the highest quality ingredients. With a rich family legacy that spans over eight decades—my mother’s journey beginning in 1940 and my own in Greenville since 2010—we remain committed to consistently elevating our food quality and creating memorable dining experiences for our guests. We are grateful to our customers for their unwavering support, and we look forward to serving you with passion and pride! Thank you for being a part of our story.
